"OGGETTIVERY" stems from “Hungry for Love”, originally published on BACKGROUND, our 27th print Issue.
The short film, written and directed by rising talents Enrico Massaro and Daniele Bagolin and conceived by Irene Coccoli, is a seething cauldron of melancholic avant-garde ideas, skillfully blended with the icy retrospective of 1970s Italian advertising. It is not merely a visual journey; it is a haunting allegory of transformation—a poignant exploration of human essence consumed and reshaped by the very systems it creates.
Through these poignant metamorphoses, “Oggettivery” crafts a chilling yet poetic commentary on the dehumanizing effects of modernity and the relentless commodification of relationships. The film beckons us to reflect on the cost of progress, asking: when we reduce people to their utility, what remains of their humanity?
