Riccardo Pelagatti is an emerging Director of Photography based in Milan. He graduated in Cinema from the Fine Arts Academy of Brera, where he honed both his theoretical knowledge and practical skills. His career began with a foundation as an Assistant Camera, further developing his technical expertise through various Assistant Camera roles in professional and high-profile environments (one of his notable collaborations was on a RAI co-produced film about the life of Giovannino Guareschi, where he served as Assistant Camera B), and eventually progressing, more recently, to Director of Photography.

Over the years, Riccardo has worked on a wide variety of projects, including music videos, short films, advertising campaigns, commercials, and feature films. This diverse range of work has allowed him to develop a versatile and adaptable style, able to meet the specific demands of each project while maintaining a strong artistic vision.

As a Director of Photography, Riccardo bases his aesthetic vision on the careful observation of natural light behavior and the knowledge he gained during his studies in art history and cinema. This approach informs his work, allowing him to seamlessly navigate between naturalistic lighting techniques and more stylized, unnatural uses of the cinematic medium.

In 2023 Riccardo directed the photography for Redlight, a short film directed by Lorenzo Iovine and currently in competition for the David di Donatello Awards.
